Hako-Core 4U Server Chassis

Thank you for supporting HakoForge! This is the official documentation for the Hako-Core Server Chassis — it will help you understand, install, and maintain your Hako-Core system. Please read it carefully before use.

This manual covers both the Hako-Core and the Hako-Core Mini, as the two share nearly all of their components and procedures. The Mini is a shorter version of the Core with one fewer row of backplanes and one fewer fan wall. Anywhere the Mini differs, it is called out under a Hako-Core Mini heading or note.

Quick Start

Check the Quick Start guide that came packaged with your system, then work through the sections in the left navigation for the rest of your setup.

  • If the Hako-Core was configured at purchase, it will come pre-assembled and ready for use.
  • If backplane kits were purchased for an existing Hako-Core, refer to the PCB Installation page.

What is the Hako-Core

The Hako-Core 4U Server Chassis is designed for high-density storage applications with support for:

  • Multiple motherboard formats: Mini-ITX up to E-ATX, plus XL-ATX, FlexATX, Mini-DTX, SSI-CEB, and SSI-EEB
  • Flexible storage options: mix-and-match HDD, SSD, U.2, and hybrid backplanes — see Specifications for capacity
  • Cooling: Support for up to 9 fans total along with accessory PCIe dedicated fans
  • Modular design: Expandable with additional cages and PCBs
